FRV established its UK development platform FRV Powertek Limited in 2022 in partnership with Tyler Hill Partners, with a goal to build up to 1 GW of battery energy storage systems (BESS) in the UK. The platform's pipeline includes large-scale BESS projects such as Bicker Fen (400MW), Stocking Pelham (400MW), Stow Manor (400MW), Ansty (200MW), and Maes Melin (200MW).

In November 2025, FRV submitted 1.8 GW of solar and BESS projects to NESO's Gate 2 connection reform process, including Malice Farm. All submitted projects are fully permitted.

Project Significance

  • Hybrid Generation: Combines solar PV with co-located storage, maximising grid utilisation
  • Fully Permitted: Project has already secured planning permission
  • Strategic Portfolio: Part of FRV's 1.8 GW UK pipeline
